The Times-Picayune website recently published an article entitled “The new Deutsches Haus along Bayou St. John in New Orleans coming along like a smooth beer.” It has some lovely pictures of the interior and interesting views of the items in the warehouse waiting for their turn to be used when the new Haus is ready.

Deutsches Haus is Moving
Our valiant volunteers are moving everything to Moss Street from Ridgewood Drive in Metairie, including the bear. Doesn’t the bear look chill? Ready to parade the streets with his own piano on the trailer. What could be more New Orleans?
Trivia night on Friday July 27 was the last event at the Metairie location. Events will start up at Moss Street with Oktoberfest on October 5. Regular events like Trivia and movies will resume after that.
Last Trivia Night at Metairie Haus
There was a big crowd to celebrate Trivia Night. Friday July 27 was the last event of any sort at the Metairie Haus which is closing as the final preparations for the move to the New Orleans Haus are underway. There will be a pause in events until Oktoberfest. When the new Haus opens in the autumn, Trivia Nights will resume.
