Volksfest 2022

Volksfest is a traditional German celebration of spring and outdoor activities after a long winter. Deutsches Haus will celebrate on Friday, April 1 (4pm-10pm) and Saturday, April 2, 2022 (11am – 10pm).

Admission

Admission is $5 for Non-members. Free for kids under 12 years. Free for Deutsches Haus members plus one guest. (Members – bring your cards!)

Accepting credit cards and cash. Some small booths cash only. Some free parking available on site.

Outside under the Oaks

Bring your portable festival chairs to sit under the beautiful oaks on the Haus property.

Wine & Schnapps Tasting sessions

Saturday, April 2, 2022

  • Wine 3:30 pm – 5 wines
  • Schnapps 5 pm – 6 schnapps

Classes are $20 per person. Limited seating. Only ticketed guests 21 and older allowed in tasting room. Purchase tickets HERE.

  • Flammkuchen (German-style pizza with creamy white sauce)
  • Bratwurst on Pretzel Bun
  • Kielbasa on a stick
  • Chicken nuggets
  • French Fries
  • Soft, fresh-baked Pretzels

Saturday, April 2
  • 11:00 am – Doors open
  • 12 pm – Music by Bier Musikanten DH
  • 1:00 pm – Opening ceremony, including choirs
  • 1:30 pm – Maypole ceremony
  • 2:00 pm – Volkslauf (A traditional German group walk)
  • 3:00 pm – Hund Parade with dog costumes
  • 3:00 pm – Music by Das Ist Lustig
  • 3:30 pm – Wine tasting
  • 4:45 pm – Maypole
  • 5:00 pm – Music by Bier Musikanten DH
  • 5:00 pm – Schnapps tasting
  • 6:00 pm – 8:00 – Music by Das Ist Lustig
  • On the stage during the day and evening – Schnitzelbank, and Adult and Childrens Mass Krug contests
  • Final Maypole dance
