Ladies Auxiliary

The Deutsches Haus formed when several German men’s organizations joined together into one organization. Because these were all male groups, the ladies could not join them. That gave rise to the Ladies Auxiliary.

A non-profit 501 (c) 3 cultural organization, the mission of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Deutsches Haus is to promote, support and celebrate German heritage, culture and history, to promote and support friendship with its members and to support and promote the mission of the Deutsches Haus.

The Ladies demonstrate their support to the community by donating to the German clubs in local high schools so students may travel to German-speaking countries, donating to Kulturabend and the Deutsches Haus. We actively volunteer our time and talents to the Haus.

The Ladies promote families at the Haus through various activities. They are the hostesses for the Haus Annual Christmas Party, organize and run the Annual Easter Egg Hunt and have a Kinder Zeit (Children’s Time) in July with fun activities.

Although, they are often called the “Cake Ladies”, one does not have to know or even want to bake to join in the fun. After meetings, there is generally socializing and some entertainment such as a travelogue or a talk. They hold a Post Holiday party in January and a Summer Social in July. They arrange for outings to places of interest around the community.

Membership is open to all women over the age of 18 and of good character. The meetings are normally on the first Thursday of the Month with a few exceptions such as holidays and the summer pause.  (In April 2021, the meeting will be the second Thursday (April 8) due to Easter week. )  You do not need an invitation to come to a meeting. The membership dues are $20.00/year.

Please join us at our next meeting.
