Bar

The Deutsches Haus welcomes everyone, members and non members alike, to come by and enjoy our “Gemütlichkeit” (or good cheer).

There are be 2 bars in the new Haus.  Both bars  have a state-of-the-art long draw system which delivers draft beer to the taps at a controlled temperature of 27 degrees.  There will be 20 beers on tap, of which most are German and the rest craft.  The bars will also be fully stocked with bottled beer, schnapps, wine and liquor.

The main bar borders the large Festival Hall.  It is shown in the photo above.

The smaller Member’s Bar has a display locker for members to keep their steins close at hand, ready to be filled.  The bar in that room is made from wood salvaged from the bowling alley at the old Haus on Galvez Street.  It has 2 colorful beer towers also salvaged from Galvez Street.

Generally, there will be at least 1 bar open during Deutsches Haus opening hours.  In the case of a private event taking place in the main Festival hall and bar, then the smaller bar will be staffed.  It will be accessed from the bayou side via a door to the left of the main doors.

The selection will change over time, but on tap in April 2021 are:
