Mark Your Calendars for June 1st – Deutsches Haus NOLA Presents VOLKSFEST 2019!

Come to Volksfest and be part of a traditional German festival celebrating the start of summer and all things German at the Deutsches Haus on the banks of Bayou St. John.

Experience the first ever “Volkslauf” in New Orleans, which is a popular outdoor walking experience in Germany, leaving from the Maypole at the Deutsches Haus following a course through City Park while being led by the chicken dance mascot.

Attend a tasting of Schnapps or German and Austrian wines, presented by German born Chris Freudenreich of Niche Import Company, who is an expert in his field. A small fee is required.

There will also be Maypole dancing; a scavenger hunt; live music by PROST; games for kids; German food and drinks. Zum wolhl!

Admission is $5 for adults. Onsite parking available for $5.
Free for kids under 12 years. Free admission and parking for Deutsches Haus members.

Come as you are or put on your flower headbands, dirndls, lederhosen and hats.

Wine Tasting

Our first wine and cheese tasting is coming up soon.

At each tasting, 7 different wines will each be paired with a cheese.  Open to the public, but advanced tickets are required.    Will take place at Deutsches Haus at 1700 Moss Street in New Orleans.  Each event is on a Friday evening from 7:30 pm-10:30 pm

Tickets may be purchased for individual events below for $45 for Members, $50 for Non-Members each.
