Die Frau Meiner Träume

(This showing was postponed from April 9)

Shot in Germany’s rare Agfacolor, this Musical Kömedie features lavish dance numbers highlighted by tap-dancing from the multi-talented Schausspielerin Marika Rökk! THE WOMAN OF MY DREAMS stars Rökk as a popular, but exhausted revue dancer/singer who loses her memory while on vacation in the mountains after escaping her relentless theater job! All this leads to a hillarious screwball comedy! Film will be screened in original German with subtitles in English. FSK: 0.

Gerhard Richter Painting

Direktor Corinna Belz’s award-winning Doku showcases the Contemporary Art of Gerhard Richter. Richter’s life, you might remember, was the basis for the celebrated film from Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck: Werk Ohne Autor/Never Look Away. Filmed at his studio in Köln, here is a chance to watch the master at work as Richter paints in his normally private world, occasionally repainting his multilayered, complex creations, but as a film crew records! Gerhard Richter Painting also includes flashbacks from the fascinating life of the Künstler, who lived through both WW2 & the Cold War. Film will be screened in original German, & subtitled in English. FSK: 0
