German Classes for Children
YOUNGER CHILDREN’S CLASS
The German classes for younger children are one hour long programs filled with fun and playful activities. Children from age 3-10 will learn basic German vocabulary and conversation skills.
Exposure to German culture through songs, games and stories is an important part of the class as well.
Our maximum class size is 10, so please register early. Children must be potty trained.
OLDER CHILDREN’S CLASS
NO OLDER CHILDREN’S CLASS OFFERED SUMMER 2026
Our Children’s class for students ages 9-15 provides a more structured approach to learning German. The structured lessons are augmented by additional fun and playful activities.
The age overlap between the classes recognizes that some younger children may be ready for the more structured approach provided by the class for the older children.
Our maximum class size is 10, so please register early.
Class Schedule For Children Summer 2026
The Children’s class will begin on Saturday, May 16, no class on Saturday, July 4. and then continue until Saturday, July 25. If any classes have to be cancelled, they will be made up on Saturdays after July 25. Any required make-up classes will be arranged directly with the teacher. The class meets 10 times.
The younger children’s class is at 9:00 am and runs for 1 hour.
Tuition
Children: 10 week class
$200 – Deutsches Haus Non-Members
$180 – Deutsches Haus Members

You can pay for up to four children in a family at once. Registration will be open soon.

Semester Schedule For Children
2026
- Spring – Begin January 10, end April 18, 13 classes, skip Saturday before Mardi Gras and Easter weekends
- Summer – Begin May 11, end July 25, 10 classes, no class on July 4
- Autumn – Begin August 22, end November 21, 10 classes, no classes September 5 and during Oktoberfest, October 10, 17, and 24
