German Classes for Children
YOUNGER CHILDREN’S CLASS
The German classes for younger children are one hour long programs filled with fun and playful activities. Children from age 3-9 will learn basic German vocabulary and conversation skills.
Exposure to German culture through songs, games and stories is an important part of the class as well.
Our maximum class size is 10, so please register early. Children must be potty trained.
OLDER CHILDREN’S CLASS
Our Children’s class for students ages 9-15 provides a more structured approach to learning German. The structured lessons are augmented by additional fun and playful activities.
The age overlap between the classes recognizes that some younger children may be ready for the more structured approach provided by the class for the older children.
Our maximum class size is 10, so please register early.
Class Schedule For Children
Fall 2025
The Children’s classes will begin on Saturday, August 30, and continue until Saturday, November 22, unless there are make-up classes required due to cancellations. Any required make-up classes will be arranged directly with the teacher. There will be no classes during Oktoberfest, October 11, 18, and 25. The class meets 10 times.
The younger children’s class is at 9 am and runs for 1 hour. The older children’s class meets from 10:15 am to 11:15 am.
Tuition
Children: 10 week class
$200 – Deutsches Haus Non-Members
$175 – Deutsches Haus Members

Semester Schedule For Children
2025
- Spring – Begin January 18, end April 26, 13 classes, skip Saturday before Mardi Gras and Easter weekends
- Summer – Begin May 17, end July 26, 10 classes, one off day to be scheduled by the teacher
- Autumn – Begin August 30, end November 22, 10 classes, no classes during Oktoberfest, October 11, 18, and 25
