Looking for a swingin' good time? Crescent City Big Band delivers! Come for their infectious rhythms and dynamic arrangements that are sure to entertain.  

Casual walk or run every Thursday. We’ll go for a 2 or 3 mile route in the park or neighborhood then gather at the Haus for Gemütlichkeit. Gather at 5:30 pm, leave for run/walk at 6pm.

Ladies Auxiliary. The Ladies Auxiliary meets on the first Thursday of every month at 7pm.

Damenchor and Saengerchor Choir Groups meet on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month. The Damenchor (ladies) meet at 7:00 pm and the Saengerchor (men) meet at 8:00 pm

Our Coming to America Lecture Series presents Eduardo Aguirre - From Immigrant to Ambassador: My American Journey. In 1961, fifteen-year-old Eduardo Aguirre arrived alone in Miami from Cuba with just a dime in his pocket and knowing little English. What he lacked in resources, he made up for in resilience and determination. His journey carried him from those humble beginnings to the highest levels of American leadership: Acting Chairman and CEO of the Export-Import Bank of the United States, the first Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services after 9/11, and U.S. Ambassador to Spain and Andorra. His story is a powerful testament to perseverance and the promise of the American dream.

Galvez Night is held monthly on the 2nd Friday of the month. Schnickelfritz is calling everyone to come celebrate and re-live old memories and lore that was Deutsches Haus Galvez Street!

Available trainings for Oktoberfest. ServSafe Alcohol Class $25 Non-Refundable.10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Responsible Vendor License is necessary to work in any booth serving alcohol. Prior volunteers should check their license expiration date! We will need proof of your RV license before you can be scheduled to volunteer. Having a RV license DOES NOT guarantee serving alcohol. Following the two wonderful piano concerts by Peter Collins and Dr. James Oakes earlier this year, Brigitta and James will discuss the development of the piano in Italy, Germany, England, Austria and Japan from the 17th century to today. This is sponsored by the German-American Cultural Center of Gretna and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Deutsches Haus. Dr. Oakes will play some music to illustrate the great piano that we have at the Deutsches Haus.

Kino will show German Horror for Halloween!!!! For the first time since 2019 we will screen the kultfilm, that I have referred to as a zombie liebesgeschichte: Rammbock: Berlin Undead!!! After arriving in Berlin to make one last attempt to make amends with seine Freundin, our Hero unfortunately finds the City under siege from Homicidal Maniacs infected by an uncontrollable virus mutating the population into Bran-Eating-Zombies !!! Nicht mehr zu sagen! Film will be screened in German * subtitled in English.
