Check out our Frühlingsfest Page Frühlingsfest (formerly known as Volksfest) is a traditional German celebration of spring and outdoor activities after a long winter. Deutsches Haus will celebrate on: Friday, April 10 from 4 pm to 8 pm Saturday April 11 from 1 pm to 8 pm Sunday, April 12 from 1 pm to 5 pm Admission Admission is Free. The fest will be accepting credit cards and cash. Some small booths cash only. Some limited parking available on site for $5 (Sorry – members, unless you’re volunteering, the $5 parking fee applies to you, too). Outside under the Oaks Bring your portable festival chairs to sit under the beautiful oaks on the Haus property. Enjoy German Foods freshly prepared on site. Dachshund Races The Dachshund race slated for 5pm Saturday April 11, is organized and benefitting ARNO (Animal Rescue New Orleans) Entertainment & Activities Live German Music throughout the weekend. Traditional Maypole dance, symbolizing the emergence of color, Love, Warmth and Fun after the gloomy days of Winter,  Performed throughout the weekend with everyone welcome to participate. We'll have about 20 Arts/Craft and Farmers Market Vendors offering items such as summer clothing, jewelry, paintings, soaps, candles as well as sweet treats, Local Honey and Pickled Vegetables, Belgium Waffles and more. Throughout the weekend a wood worker will demonstrate his craft.

*** NO Galvez Night in April *** We look forward to seeing you next month! Galvez Night is held monthly on the 2nd Friday of the month. Schnickelfritz is calling everyone to come celebrate and re-live old memories and lore that was Deutsches Haus Galvez Street!
