Some tips for the Volunteer Form
- Texts: You’ll get 1–2 text reminders per event (at the same time as emails). Emails include full details like shift times. To skip texts, leave your phone number blank. There’s also an optional box for future promotional texts — you don’t need to check this (we aren’t using this yet). You can also unsubscribe from text messages (see your text). Please do not unsubscribe from emails until after the event.
- Canceling Shifts: To cancel, click “Cancel RSVP” in your confirmation email. To rebook the exact same shift, please email the coordinators to ensure it processes correctly.
- Full Day Sign-Up: Want to volunteer all day? Some booths have a whole day shift from open time to close time. Just click one of those for the day. You do not have to select the smaller shifts for that day.
- You can click multiple shifts . You will get multiple emails — that’s normal.
- Questions?: Once you’ve applied, every email and text has a way to contact the volunteer coordinators. Or contact them at volunteer@deutscheshaus.org
Volunteer Forms for Oktoberfest
Volunteer forms for Oktoberfest are up! Click on the buttons below to explore the possibilities. As shifts fill up, they will disappear from the form.
Emails: Each volunteer must use their own email address. Sharing emails will cause registration errors. If someone doesn’t have an email, contact the volunteer coordinators for help at volunteer@deutscheshaus.org . We will add them manually.
Other assignments: Have you been recruited for a booth that isn’t here? Your captain will have a link or email the volunteer coordinators to get a link: volunteer@deutscheshaus.org
Note: You’ll receive your assignment confirmation when you sign up, and again the day before your shift — not at the start of festival week like in years past. If you need to be moved, you will be notified
Responsible Vendor License
A current Responsible Vendor (RV) permit is required to work in any booth serving alcohol. We must have a copy of your permit on file before you can be scheduled. Temporary or expired permits are not accepted — check your expiration date!
Bring a copy (paper or digital) with you when volunteering.
How to get your RV license on file at Deutsches Haus (Expand)
The Volunteer Coordinator needs a copy of your license to keep on file before scheduling can be done for any booth serving alcohol. Send an electronic copy of your ATC RV license to the Volunteer Coordinator via email, volunteer@deutscheshaus.org. Instructions to print a copy of the ATC license are below.
If you sent a license to the Volunteer Coordinator for a prior festival, you do not need to send it again (until it expires and you renew)
Also, keep a copy of your permit (on your phone or on a piece of paper) with you any day you come to volunteer at the Fest in case the ATC comes for a visit.
How to Print your Responsible Vendor (RV) License (Expand)
It takes up to 21 business days after a class is completed for the license to be up on the ATC website. Licenses from classes taken in past years are already available. (You may need to create an account on the Louisiana ATC website)
Go to https://atc.louisiana.gov/
Scroll down to RV Bar Cards
On the Search for Responsible Vendor Licenses Page
Enter Last Name, Last 4 of SSN and/or Date of Birth to find your card
Click Download License
Need a Permit?
- Take an in-person class at the Haus — September 13 10am
- Or get certified online — get started at Louisiana ATC here.
Note: Having an RV permit does not guarantee you’ll only work in alcohol booths; you may also be assigned to other areas as needed.
Questions? Contact the Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@deutscheshaus.org.

Lawn Team
We’re building a team of volunteers to help with weekly mowing, trimming, edging, and general yard care. The more hands we have, the easier (and faster) the job — and you’ll help save the Haus thousands in maintenance costs!
