The Lee family’s journey is one of resilience and hope. In 1985, Seung Lee was facing many challenges, including a broken back and financial struggles. His son, Bum, though very strong and athletic, lacked the academic skills to prosper in Korea, a country with mandatory military service. After having faced the heartbreaking loss of one son and with a fused spine, Seung made the courageous decision to leave Korea and immigrate to the land of opportunity, America.
