May 7: Open Haus!

May 4, 2011   //   Blog

Deutsches Haus, a local non-profit organization that promotes German heritage in the New Orleans metro area, will host an Open House on Saturday, May 7 from 6-9 p.m., for members, friends, and neighbors at their new location, 1023 Ridgewood Drive, in Metairie.

Due to construction of the new medical complex in downtown New Orleans, Deutsches Haus was forced to close its doors after 82 years.  The new location in Metairie has been under renovation for several months, with members of the organization contributing most of the labor.

The Open House will feature complementary German beer, food, music, and other refreshments.  This event is open to the public, and media are encouraged to attend.

Founded in 1928, Deutsches Haus is a non-profit organization that works to celebrate and foster the rich culture, musical heritage, language and history of the German people. For more information on Deutsches Haus, visit www.DeutschesHaus.org.
